When it comes to reviewing comics, I’m most comfortable with superhero comics. I never thought I’d be writing a review for a romance comic. So what made me want to review this book? I’d have to say how real this book is.

Inside this book we have three stories that anyone can relate to. We are given very realistic stories of possibilities, courage, and curiosity. The first story, Cybermate, is about online dating. This story goes over the possible fears everyone has about meeting a person online. It is a story that everyone can relate to. I liked the direction taken in this story and the ending is very satisfying.

The second story is called Heat Wave. It takes place at a concert and writer Bart Thompson claims this actually happened. Sadly I’ve never been to a concert so I can’t relate to the story but the chemistry between the two main characters was very enjoyable.

The last story has to be my favorite. This story goes by the name of Pulp Romance. It takes place in a restaurant right before a comic con so in a way I find myself relating to the settings. It is a story of meeting the right person at the wrong time. Two people meet in this restaurant and are getting along great. The thing is, they are both after the same job. The mood of the story is very chilled and entertaining.

One thing I can say about this book as a whole is the realistic yet simple mood it sets. It is nice to know there are comics like this that can deliver a good story with out complicating things. Thompson has one goal with this book and I believe it is to show the readers he can give you a “feel good” story.

Ezequiel Pineda's art kind of brings the grade down here. Pineda delivers on what is needed and helps move along the story. It isn’t the most breath taking art you’ve ever seen but it is good enough for this kind of book. I do hope the style improves in the future though.

I will have to say $3.50 may be a little much for this issue. It is your average sized comic but it at least kept my interest. Amour isn’t as amazing as Sorority Girl vs. Zombies is (but how can you top that?) but it is a good start.
