A few weeks ago, I did a review of the preview of this series, and figured it was going to be an excellent one. What's shocking to me is how little of the story was available in the preview, but how correct my initial inclination was. I can't wait for book two to come out, and I'm really upset if it's really not going to be until March.

So, a quick recap. The story is that the US Government has figured out how to stop crime forever, and plans on broadcasting something that will change everyone's ability to commit crimes of any kind. At the same time, the US is getting rid of paper money entirely, moving to a pure digital economy. This is where our hero comes in. A two-bit con, he has the idea and is in the right position for the big score. Problem is that a job that should take months to plan, only has two weeks to be executed. So, he needs help.

This book is in the vein of 100 Bullets, but without the continuing story, and a highly interesting plot device. It would seem there are only three main characters, maybe four if you count one of their mothers, but none of them are what they seem to be. Or perhaps, everyone is more than they seem to be.

The ending of volume one shows just how involved this story is going to get, and leads me to believe that it's going to struggle to finish in only 3 issues. That might be okay, if we get more like this. It's the kind of story that comics do best, and something that I wish we had more of.

Highly Recommended
